How We Heal

Ever thought about how your body heals? We live in a pretty cool body. It's innately programmed to do what it has to do to get us through our life. It's quite interesting when you think about it!

We eat when our body tells us we're hungry, drink when it tells us we're thirsty, and sleep when it tells us we're tired. If you injure yourself, it starts healing. If you cut your self, you bleed. A scar forms - that's healing in progress!

Now, sometimes, you might get some stitches so you heal better, or we might apply an antiseptic to help keep the wound clean, because there are some things that the body's innate healing can't control.

But effective or not - the healing still happens. That's whether or not you see a doctor, chiropractor, physio, or any health professional.

Why does that matter?

Your body will heal on it's own, so the role of your health professional is to assist your body in its innately designed healing.

Over time, you pick up many minor little injuries (stresses). Often, they're so small you don't even notice them.

For example, you might have a bit of a back ache every now and then. Or a headache once in a while.

These could possibly be from how you sit at work. Or a result of sleeping in a weird position one night (or every night). Or any one of a large number of things that impact on your health.

And while your body will try it's best to heal these injuries, there are limits on how effective they will be.

A Chiropractor can help by identifying the impact of these injuries (stresses), and helping your body to heal itself.

Talk to your Chiropractor today about how they can assist in healing your body.
